Art Walk Huntingdon will take place on the third Thursday of every month with the next one on February 21, 2019 during the hours of 5:00-8:00 PM. This month’s Art Walk features interactive art experiences, exhibitions of a historical master artist as well as student art and a celebration of Black History Month.
The event is an open house format with no defined start or end point. Each particpating venue will host an art related special event, performance, or activity. Don’t worry if you can’t make it everywhere…there is always next month!

Huntingdon County Arts Council: Memory, Collage and the Frame – In this mini workshop artist Jake Ricci will talk about the creation of creative spaces, memory as collage, and the power of the frame on the subject. Participants will then be invited to participate in mind-mapping their own memory through collage, using a variety of material including recycled backgrounds (from the artists workshop) and newspaper clippings.

Huntingdon Area High School: Come celebrate Martin Luther King Jr Day with us by making art about love, peace, and acceptance. We will be doing a printmaking project in which participants can carve their drawing into a foam plate, color it with markers, and make a print on a large paper as a collaborative project. You can also make your own print to take with you!

The August 16th Art Walk includes:
Juniata College L.A. Beeghly Library: staff members of the L.A. Beeghly Library – Juniata College and Huntingdon County Library will face off to see which library is the best in the borough. From 5 to 6 pm the two teams will compete in a series of to be announced library themed challenges. From 6 to 8 pm the public will be welcome to try the games individually or as part of a team.
Juniata College Museum of Art:
Standing Stone Coffee Co.: RK and Autumn’s Music Box plays 50’s, 60’s,70’s music plus Elvis selections. We will also be featuring our “Elvis” drink at the shop that night.

Huntingdon County Arts Council: Envelope Art, make a collage with used privacy envelopes. (Privacy envelopes are the ones with colored designs inside so people can’t see what’s in the envelope.)
A.C. Darby Studio: “art therapy” – mandala drawing, tree drawing, chalk drawing, a peaceful conversation table, and blank sheets of paper and envelopes to write letters to loved ones.

Juniata College Ceramics Studio/Mud Junkies Ceramics Club is hosting a bingo event for Art Walk. Each winner will also be given a ceramic prize that is fall themed. Each bingo card will cost 1 dollar and each game should take roughly a half an hour. We will also be having a raffle where the winner gets one of BJ Watson’s big bowls

• Studio One Fifteen is hosting an art opening of a collection of pieces where all proceeds will be going to benefit Human Trafficking Survivors.
• Huntingdon County Arts Council’s Art Space will feature instructors from Folk College performing live music and giving ukulele lessons.
• Huntingdon County Library will be displaying posters from Huntingdon High School art students about Huntingdon County.
• Gage Mansion Bed & Breakfast will be hosting live music on the lawn by Kerin Maguire.
