Last Minute Christmas Gifts and Fun at Art Walk Huntingdon

Create, enjoy, interact, listen and taste the arts during Art Walk Huntingdon.

Art Walk Huntingdon will take place on the third Thursday of every month with the next one on December 20, 2018 during the hours of 5:00-8:00 PM. This month’s Art Walk features chances to create or purchase last minute gifts and holiday celebrations.

The event is an open house format with no defined start or end point. Each particpating venue will host an art related special event, performance, or activity. Don’t worry if you can’t make it everywhere…there is always next month!

The December 20th Art Walk includes:
Gage Mansion is hosting live Christmas music, hot drinks and gingerbread cookie decorating.
Mimi’s Restaurant & Martini Bar
Huntingdon County Arts Council invites guests to meet the artists who are participating in this year’s Holiday Shop.
Huntingdon County Library
A.C. Darby Studio
American Legion Post 24
Stone Town Gallery Cafe
Huntingdon Event Center will be offering Holiday themed crafts and activities including making a snowman handprint ornament.
Standing Stone Coffee Co. invites guests to make their own ornament while enjoying 50% off Christmas menu drinks.
Juniata College Museum of Art invites guests to do a digital tour and enjoy the Mining the Museum exhibit.
Juniata College Library make your own pinback button using available festive and recycled materials.

Don’t forget to search for the official Art Walk Huntingdon mascot, Artie Walker. This month’s Art Walk features two new venues in uptown Huntingdon including the L.A. Beeghly Library at Juniata College, and the Huntingdon Event Center at Midtown Gateway Commons

Juniata College L.A. Beeghly Library: Beeghly Library is featuring local adult and youth coloring books.

Juniata College Museum of Art: NEW exhibitions of works from our collection, plus contribute to a community mural and give us your ideas of what you want to see at the JCMA in the future!

Huntingdon County Arts Council: Flux exhbit. Haven Tucker’s current art practice, as well as he himself, exists in a state of flux, and as such defining what he does as an artist is complicated. He is very interested in the relationship that materiality and the environment have, and the interconnections between our social understandings of materials and the way we segregate and compartmentalize materials into resources. By defining something as a resource we establish it as valuable. Haven finds that the way value is assigned to materials to be especially interesting and in his art he attempts to question the true value of a resource or object through juxtaposition with its source material.

A.C. Darby Studio, located at 417 Penn Street in Huntingdon is hosting a game night.

Gage Mansion is having live music with Dylan Miller in the gazebo on the lawn.
