Create, enjoy, interact, listen and taste the arts during Art Walk Huntingdon.
Art Walk Huntingdon will take place on the third Thursday of every month with the next one on October 18, 2018 during the hours of 5:00-8:00 PM. This month’s Art Walk features lots of creative activities around Halloween and Day of the Dead.
The event is an open house format with no defined start or end point. Each particpating venue will host an art related special event, performance, or activity. Don’t worry if you can’t make it everywhere…there is always next month!
The October 18th Art Walk includes:
Huntingdon Area High School Auditorium: The Art Department at Huntingdon Area School District is proud to host a collaborative, cultural event for Huntingdon’s October Art Walk! Along with our Related Arts Spanish Educators, we welcome the community to explore Mexican heritage and the holiday known as Dia de los Muertos. We will provide historical and cultural information, decorations, music, authentic food to sample (while supplies last!), and several art activities for the community to enjoy. Art specific activities include, creating festive chalk drawings inspired by the holiday. Participants may also create a paper marigold to keep, or add to our Ofrenda, the area of remembrance. Finally, we plan to have sugar skull candy available for decorating.
Juniata College Beeghly Library – Attendees will have the opportunity to read scary short stories and tales of terror and then write their own! Special guest: author Nicholas Galante will be on-hand ready to talk about his favorite stories or offer suggestions on writing.
Juniata College Museum of Art – in conjunction with the UK’s Big Draw month-long drawing event, the theme is “Play” – via drawing.
MudJunkies Ceramics Club at Juniata College Ceramics Studio: Fall themed Raku DIY glazing, then Mudjunkies will fire in Raku Kiln for you to pick up about 45 minutes later!
Standing Stone Coffee Co. -Meet the Artist,Mary Beth Wiseman, Painted Wood Relief Artist and create your own Latte art.
Huntingdon Event Center invites participants to make and take Halloween themed crafts.
Frank P. Hommon American Legion Post 24: Pick up puff paint shirts from September Art Walk + sausage and potato soup and a Halloween craft
Huntingdon County Arts Council: Interactive screen printing demonstration by current Art Space gallery artist Stephen Haynes . Stephen will be on hand to assist you in creating your own screen print. No experience necessary. Kid friendly.
Mimi’s Restaurant & Martini Bar will host musician Randy Jackson for live music.

Don’t forget to search for the official Art Walk Huntingdon mascot, Artie Walker.
