Do you have a business idea that will enhance Huntingdon by bringing products, services or innovations to our community? The Downtown Opportunity Committee wants to help make it a reality! “We are hosting a business pitch competition April 23rd to give investors an opportunity to connect with people who have great business ideas,” explains Angie Thompson.
The committee has identified a number of individuals who have the means and are willing to invest cash, space and expertise in sound business ideas for existing or aspiring entrepreneurs.
“The first step is attending one of the information sessions on January 11th. A Lunch and Learn event will be held at noon at the Huntingdon County Library, you will learn about the application requirements and get your questions answered.” A second session will be held at 7pm that evening at the Gage Mansion Carriage House.
Applications must be received by February 13th. The committee will review them and choose the best candidates to participate in the Business Pitch event where business ideas could receive investor funding. Individuals selected to participate in the Business Pitch can hone their ideas through a series of workshops leading up to the event on April 23rd.
“I encourage everyone with an idea to get involved. Our community offers a brilliant network of business development professionals and mentors who operate successful ventures already,” says Thompson. “We look forward to welcoming more entrepreneurs to the Huntingdon business community.”
